A popular 'love token" in the 1870s and 1880s, this Victorian "Rose of Sharon" oval faceted amethyst features an intaglio carving of a flower, with a rose-cut diamond set in it. The flower historically symbolizes that the giver is “consumed with love”. The engraved band is stamped "14" with an arrow inside.
